If you want your house to smell like fresh oranges bake a Greek Orange Filo cake 🤩
Ingredients:
🍊 1 pack of filo pastry - 500grams
🍊 1 cup of sugar
🍊 4 eggs
🍊 2 oranges - zest & the rest of the orange
🍊 1 tsp of vanilla
🍊 1 tsp of cinnamon
🍊 2 tsp of baking powder
🍊 1 cup of coconut oil
🍊 250 ml of greek yoghurt
🍊 1 orange round sliced
For the syrup:
🍊 1 cup of sugar
🍊 350ml of water
🍊 2 orange zest and the juice
🍊 1 tsp of vanilla
🍊 2 cinnamon sticks
Instructions
- Separate the filo and line it in a baking pan to bake for 1 hour at 120 degrees. Should come out dry & crispy.
- Mix sugar and eggs for 8-10 minutes
- Add the rest of the ingredients and mix.
- Once the filo is ready leave it to cool then break it into smaller pieces.
- Add the filo to the mixture. And decorate with round sliced orange.
- Spray the tray with oil and bake it for 40 minutes at 180 degrees
- While the cake is baking, start prepping the syrup by adding all the ingredients in a sauce pan and boil for 10 minutes then set it aside to cool
- Once the cake is baked, pour the cool syrup. Serve it warm with a cup of tea and enjoy
What can the kids do:
